With this daybed you quickly and easily create space for overnight guests. Just pull out the bed base and you get a double bed in no time.

The large drawers have space for extra duvets, pillows, linens or other things you need to store, but want to have close at hand.

The high frame creates a cozy cocoon feeling, and is lacquered so that it's easy to maintain.

With some soft, fluffy pillows as back support, you easily transform this day-bed into a comfortable sofa.

The daybed must be combined with two twin mattresses. They are placed on top of each other when you use the daybed as a single bed, and next to each other when you use it as a double bed. Coordinates with other furniture in the HEMNES series. Mattress and bedlinens are sold separately. Slatted bed base is included. The daybed is not to be used as two single beds; it should only be used as a double bed when the bed base is pulled out.

Good quality bedroom furniture addition Keith Had expected the items in the 4 numbered boxes to correspond to order of assembly rather than random packaging as received. That said, assembly, while time consuming 5 hours, was relatively okay. Instructions were very clear and one just has to read, take your time and follow the numbered and pictured instructions in the manual. Pictures of material to use was very helpful. Only needed lifting/holding assistance when attaching headboard and side boards. Everything fit well and was of good quality. Color on all painted pieces was well matched. Bed is very stable. Best to build very close to area in which it will be used because it is cumbersome to move. Casters on the "feet" would be helpful in moving around. Will have to partially disassemble if need to remove from bedroom. Overall good value for our dollars spent. Bed is comfortable. We upgraded the foam mattresses for the bed. We are happy with our Hemnes Trundle bed purchase and have no problem recommending this bed to others. 4

Not the same color yellow as in the photo Brittany I bought this limited edition yellow color bed thinking it was going to be the same color yellow as in the photo and match ikeas yellow arm chairs and other yellow items in the limited edition collection. It’s more of a pale Mac and cheese color. Not bight and fun at all. I wonder if I got a fluke color batch? Disappointed. 1

LOVE THEM - Yes I have 2 now! April We purchased the first bed about 4 years ago for our guest bedroom. The daybed makes a nice reading couch for me and then it pulls out great when my kids come home for a visit. When we purchased a new bed for our master bedroom, I started having aches and pains, so started sleeping in the guestroom. I found the bed to be extremely comfortable and roomy, and I’m not bothered by the two twin mattresses. So when push came to shove and I wanted to get back into the master bedroom, I went back to IKEA and purchased the exact same bed. My husband and I are actually happier now because with having two twin mattresses, we can each customize our bedding to what we prefer. He likes flannel. I prefer cotton. He sleeps hot. I sleep cold. The bed holds both of us just fine and holds two twin mattresses although I will say the IKEA mattresses recommended are much too thin and you can feel the slats. I just purchased an extra set of mattresses and have them double stacked . Would buy again! 5

Bad instructions, bad packaging, flimsy daybed Steven The instructions for this are pretty bad. There are at least 2 direct errors in it. Also many parts aren't labeled or anything with only a tiny picture to try and identify which part it is (which is made worse by having multiple slightly different parts that look like it). Top this off with dumb packaging, it arrives in 4 boxes but they seem to just have randomly selected which pieces go in one box. Would have made too much sense to keep all pieces for one part like a drawer in the same box I suppose. Instead you might have two pieces in one box and two pieces in two separate boxes lol. Also the hardware is just mixed all together in one bag rather than being split out at and identified. Which is also bad when you have two screws being used that are nearly identical. And then you get to the quality of the bed itself. It's barely more stable than a cardboard box. I would not trust this bed to hold up to anything bigger than a 5 year old. 2

Packaged With Wrong Colors Elaina Husband put it together while my daughter and I were gone and proudly sent us the picture. The bed should be all white. IKEA packaged white and black pieces together. It looks horrible. If I could attach a photo I would - the base is black, the back is black and so are the top trim pieces while the draws and sides are white. I'm so angry and disappointed. Trying to see if we can setup and paint it once I'm home. Total waste of over $400. 2

Ridiculous packaging of materials Nathan Packing the materials needed for step one in box four is the worst IKEA packing job I have yet seen. It is difficult to have room to have all materials out at once a setup so it is helpful when the boxes and the order you open them are somewhat in order. Having to open every box to find the very first thing you need makes for a very frustrating start. 1

Horrible product Mustafa I converted to double bed, now it is not closing. Assembly was like rocket science. DO NOT BUY EVER. Cheap material, really ugly. 1

Don’t buy this Shamine This was the cutest day bed I have ever had but it broke after moving it once. And I only had it for 3 years too smh 1

Difficult to Assemble Albert Angelo Unnecessarily difficult to assemble. Screws are numbered in the manual with small font. Suggestion: Letter the items and make the font bigger. Do I need a small screw or a medium screw? Had to keep referring to the manual. Cheap product but it was at a cheapish price. You get what you pay for. 2

You cannot buy just any twin mattress. Lisa I wish I would have read the reviews before purchasing. I wanted comfier mattresses than the ones sold on IKEA so I ordered them from Amazon. They fit perfect on the bed when it is closed up to a single but when opened up to a king they do not fit side by side. The pull out portion is smaller. So sad that this was not noticed until months after purchasing the bed and mattresses. 2

This bed cannot be disassembled. Donna Again, this bed cannot be disassembled. If you have any possibility, at all, ever, of moving DO NOT GET THIS BED. The odds of you breaking it beyond repair are insurmountable. 1

Poor ikea quality. Never buy Narayan I purchased this daybed in May 2023. Within first 2 months, slats broke. after contacting ikea support, I received replacement slats (not product) at the end of June 2023. within 10 months again slats broke at exact same place. And now ikea wants me to buy them separately saying even though its less than 12 months (and less than 10 months for replaced slats), there is star mark somewhere which says this product has 10 month warranty. I regret my decision. How can a same product break at same place twice. Wish I had seen slat quality before purchase. 1

Great bed Bonnie I got this daybed used. I wanted it for my living room so we could have a place for out of town guests and we only have one bedroom. We used it for about 5 years and when I was moving in with family after a serious illness I gave it to another family member and that was 3 years ago and it is still good. I am now back in my own home and am going to purchase another one but new this time. And I have to say we used it every day and both my husband and I are large people. One of us was over 300 pounds when we had the old one. I would strongly recommend it! 5

Great idea but not great quality Tsion I love the space-saving design of this daybed. And the drawers are amazing - very large! I've had the bed in a guest room for about 2 years and has been used maybe 10 times. The slats are bowed and broken. I doubt it's sturdy enough for daily use, much less for adults. 2

Best IKEA purchase Raven This is been one of our favorite IKEA purchases. It was really easy to put together with only one person and is a great multipurpose used furniture. We use this in our office and for our cats bedroom and it has been sturdy for over two years. 5

LOVE IT Guiselle The bed frame was exactly as i had expected it to be, super easy to assemble and light weight to move around but still sturdy enough when the mattress was placed. love the color and the drawers were very spacy. Really loved this purchase! 5
